Resolved Question

Am i getting a comparable CPU and Motherboard

May 2, 2015 6:09PM PDT

Hi all, i would be grateful of your opinions my insurance company are pricing up a new pc for me, as it was damaged by a third party contractor.

They have come back with the following CPU and motherboard combo

AMD A4-6300 Dual Core APU (3.7GHz) and Radeon HD 8370D Graphics with ASUS A58M-E FM2+ (M-ATX, DDR3, USB 2.0, 3Gb/s) Motherboard

i believe this is a lower spec in comparison to the AMD Phenom II 1055t 6 Core AM3 processor with Gigabyte AM2+ GA-MA78GPM-DS2H Motherboard, that was sent to them for inspection

Am i right in thinking that the Phenom II 6 Core 1055t is comparable with the Intel i5 4690 and the AMD A8 8600 as CPU boss website confirms. The PC should be replaced with a comparable one and believe am getting short changed on the processor / Motherboard.

What are your opinions on this as would be greatful, or if you can suggest an alternative tha also would be helpful.

A8-7600 is very close. No doubt the a4-6300 is way below.

I will raise this concern with the company on Tuesday, when they are re-open, as its a public holiday in the UK on Monday. (not for the Royal Baby) Happy

As to the A8-8600 sorry that was a typo and meant to say A8-7600.

Many thanks all for your comments and suggestions on the situation, much appreciated.

If it's 100% replacement value then your looking for an A10-6800k or an A10-7700k.

The A4 is a value item.

You can look at CPUBOSS to compare CPUs but I too would move to the A8/A10 class to avoid disappointment.
