Am I being hacked

Jun 23, 2005 4:19AM PDT

Hello everyone, members of this forum and the one who solves my problem.
I use firefox as the default browser, I use windows xp pro and use an external modem
Recently i found out from the internet icon that my data send rate is extremely higher than the data i recive though this did not happen before( i just browse the net), e. g. Data sent: 4960000 bytes, and data recived 1400000 bytes.
In fact data sent keeps on rising even if i am not browsing a site.there is also no program running in the background. also big sites like cnet.com take a longer time to come and sometimes a site never appears.
So am i being hacked

I am using trend micro internet security which also acts as an antivirus toolkit and i guess i dont have any spyware scanning tools, do u need one with dial up which is very slow?

Yes.

XP without SP2 for example still needs a firewall even on dialup.

The VIRUS FORUM discusses such daily.
