Always open links in new tab in current window

Apr 8, 2009 9:55PM PDT

How can I make the links to always open in new tab in current window in IE8.
Currently I am achieving this by CTRL+click.
But is there any setting I can change so that the links always open in new tab in current window.
I know that right click - I have an option 'Open in New Tab'. But I want to always open links in new tab in current window, just by clicking on them.
I went to Internet options and selected option 'New tab in the current window' under Open Links from other programs. But that doesn't work always.

Does anybody know how can I do this..?

Thanks in Advance

but I'm fairly sure that middle-clicking (on the scroll wheel) has the effect you want.

Thank you Kees. MS doesn't even have your solution in their Knowledgebase.

It works perfectly, Thanks.

Thanks for that. Like everything, easy when you you know the answer, keep forgetting the wheel clicks as well as scrolls.

Try IE7Pro...

IE7Pro is a free add-on for Internet Explorer that adds numerous features Internet Explorer lacks out of the box, including tab control customization.

Hope this helps,
