Also need help buying a notebook... have a twist though

Hi. I am looking at purchasing a new notebook. Have looked at Dell, Sony, & HP mostly. The twist is that I have all software I need, including Microsoft Windows XP Professional w/SP2. I had purchased a full version to erase my lousy Windows Millenium edition off of my desktop and do a clean install of XP. After multiple postings to this site and trying each and every idea, it still would not fully load.

Anyway, I have already purchased and am stuck with XP, McAfee Internet Security, MS Office Professional; all the software I need.

However, I am not up to a comfort level of building or customizing a laptop from scratch. Is there a way to buy a laptop without the OS and bundled software I already own?

Loaded question, I know, but any brand suggestions if not?

Your best shot would be to look for such a laptop on eBay - one with a wiped HD, or one without a HD. Also, you could just sell your OS somewhere if you're really no that comfortable.

That is what I will do...

In reply to: Well

I will just sell the OS on e-bay. That is OK if I have not registered and used it, correct?

Yeah sure

AS long as you haven't installed it on any machine and as long as you still have the original product key.

Good luck Happy
