almost new pc build

Hi recently I'm thinking of building a new pc
I'm using a dell vestro 3250

What i have now
i5 6400
GT1030 (brought recently)
1TB storage

What i am going to buy
Case- Cooler master mb500
Board- Msi z170a pro
Cpu fan- Cooler master i70c
Psu- Corsair cx550m
And for ram I'm trying to get hyperx predator ddr4 3000 8GB but i couldn't find retailers that are selling 8GB
They are mostly selling 16GB and i don't have enough money Sad

Are these good components? Also any suggestions for a good ssd around $25?

I suspect

That your OS is a dell thing.

If you change that mobo your looking at buying a new OS.

What ram is on your old mobo?......number of sticks....size of each.....speed.

No you will not get a ssd for $25 bump that 5x.

hi

Why would i need to get another os?
I would be using the same hard drive although its a different board
If i really need to get another one I'll probably just get a pirated one
Btw its a kingston 4GB DDR3L 12800U
Tried to find another one of those ram but its very hard to find so i gave up

That mobo isn't a standard atx boards
And that chip set is very crappy

And ddr3 low voltage only
And extremely unstable clock speeds keep fluctuating between 900-2712

Clock speeds shall vary.

In reply to: hi

It's how new PCs work today. This can be upsetting to folk that had older PCs that were fixed in clock speed.

As to the 8 pin requirement there are adapters for such if your PSU didn't have it.

You have a lot of posts here but changing the motherboard does incur the usual 99 buck charge for a new W10 license.

WHAT IS THE GOAL HERE? GAMING? Then try a simple upgrade. That 1030 GPU while better than what the stock machine had is not good enough. You want the 1050 Ti or better.

probably some gpu with less watt usage

In reply to: Clock speeds shall vary.

The problem here is 8pin only gives 150w at most, so getting sth like 1050ti or 1060 would probably stop the computer from running

The 1050 Ti which one has this PCIe power connection?

Speed

In reply to: hi

I think you'll find that the ram speed jumping around is normal.

If your manual says ddr3L only then the link I posted contains that.

hi

Also requires a 8pin power supply

Talk to me about your Windows License problem.

In reply to: almost new pc build

My advice is to keep this motherboard and fix what is holding back a good gaming experience.

If you really want the only known end run (if there is such) then you call Microsoft and claim your Dell motherboard died and you want a key for your new motherboard. This is the only time I've seen anyone get a new license when the OEM W10 is locked to the motherboard.

But frankly I wouldn't change the motherboard since we have a much better GPU to install first.
A new motherboard will not fix that lowly 1030 performance issues.

Ok how could i possibly get my key?
Do i need to mail mircosoft or sth?

Collapse -
What key?

In reply to: hi

If it's a Windows 10 license key: you can buy them everywhere. Some shops are cheaper than the Microsoft store.

Collapse -
(NT) You would call MS

Should i call dell or mircosoft

Re: Dell or Microsoft

In reply to: hello there

That depends on what subject you call about. For warranty issues it's Dell.
