Alltel serv.: Palm Treo 650 vs. ppc6700 ASAP!

I live in northwest KS. I have a unreliable Kyocera phone and a Palm Pilot and I would like to narrow it down to just one item. I'm a stay-at-home mom w/ 2kids w/ ADHD one has type 1 diabetes, and my third has Cerebral Palsy. I am looking for something to keep track of appointments, meds. as well as dosages, and the odd e-mail to the dr. Alltel carries many phones that have schedulers, but they don't do what my palm will. Right now I have the Strobe, and hate it. It gets poor reception, and the scheduler doesn't do what I want. They also carry the Palm Treo 650 and the ppc6700. I want something that has a personalizeable calander, e-mail, good reception, possible checkbook registry. Also with the fewest downloads or upgrades to accomplish what I need. Which one sounds best?
