Question

All video audio out of sync on laptop

Every video I watch (Netflix, youtube, amazon prime, etc.) the video audio will start to get out of sync within about 10 minutes. If I refresh the page It will go back to normal for another ten minutes or so, so I don't think the problem is internet connection related. My laptop is barely a year old and runs games like Skyrim and GTAV with no issues, so I don't understand why this problem popped up. It's running Windows 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's not stock?

In reply to: All video audio out of sync on laptop

For example are drivers other than what came with the PC?

Also, what is not stock?

And does it do this while at other hot spots?

I'm not sure what you mean by "not stock," but everything about my pc is original and the problem occurs at any hotspot.

Not enough to nail this one.

Back to the maker for them to fix. My bet is they'll tell you to factory restore so the drivers are what it came with.

Cache and Browser...

In reply to: All video audio out of sync on laptop

My suggestion is to clear you cache for both your internet browser and windows hard drive (if you know how to do these things, great; if not, reply and i'll give more step by step directions...) I suspect it might have to do with the cache because when you refresh the webpage/browser, it corrects itself for a time -- cache problematic...

Also, it might be worth seeing how those stream sites work on different browsers (i.e. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11) as I'm pretty sure you're using the default (new) Microsoft Edge browser. Edge may be set for the future, but i find that it still isn't compatible with about 20% of the internet and/or gets funky with advanced sites like streaming or advanced java/flash... And, if you didn't catch it on my examples list, there actually IS the good 'ol IE11 embedded (and rather hidden) in Windows 10. They just hide it so you will adopt to Edge faster, but leave the old program in case it's still needed. Try those 3 (or more) broswers and see if you still get the lag/audio sync problem. If it does it on all 3+ browsers, then I doubt it's a simple problem like caching or the programs you use, probably a reinstall of the audio driver and/or plug-ins (will walk you through those later if necessary)...

Good luck and hope this helps...

Answer
UPDATE BIOS

In reply to: All video audio out of sync on laptop

I've had this issue for a couple years, and done ALL sorts of browser "fixes". None worked. Until today. Updated my BIOS ... for me, using Dell's support, they auto-detected my PC, and updated from original BIOS.

I always allow the normal updates to my computer, but I guess these types aren't automatic(?).

All video issues are gone. Streaming smooth, and no more audio lag!
