-> How to change motherboards and save Windows 7.
That's well done but I've yet to find Microsoft support such. Even after a decade.

Hello, So I finally got around to upgrading one of my Desktops after 7 years. I had an HP Pavilion m8100n Media Center PC that the motherboard finally crapped out on. I had done some upgrading to it prior, but only with the limitation of the old motherboard. I run a Windows 7 Ultimate/Windows 8.1 Pro Dual Boot off of it. When I put the new internals, I was expecting a Blue Screen and the need to re-install or at least re-activate my Windows Installations, but it installed new drivers and seemed away. Then the trouble started. About 15 minutes into booting into Windows 7, it suddenly went back to BIOS screen and rebooted. It continues to do this at different rates (Sometimes 2 hours, sometimes 2 minutes). I booted into Windows 8.1 and the same thing happened. I'm wondering if there is a possibility that I need to wipe my drives and do a full re-install to fix this problem, or is it a Hardware problem? The following are the specs of what the Windows Installations were originally installed on, and the current configuration.
Original Before New Upgrade:
AMD Athlon 64x2 5600+ Dual-Core Processor @2.8Ghz, Socket AM2
8GB DDR2-800 PC2-6400 RAM (4x2GB Modules)
1.5TB Seagate 2011.7 7200RPM SATA 200 Hard Drive
300W Stock Power Supply
ATI Radeon 4350HD PCI-e x16 512MB Video Card
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 TV Tuner
5-Port PCI USB 2.0 Expansion Card
DVD-R/RW 16x w/ Lightscribe SATA Optical Drive
New Configuration:
AMD FX-6300 Hex-Core Processor @3.5Ghz, Socket AM3+
8GB DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 RAM (1x8GB Module)
1.5TB Seagate 2011.7 7200RPM SATA 200 Hard Drive
500W Hercules Power Supply
nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1GB PCI-e x16 Video Card
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 TV Tuner
4-Port PCI-e x1 USB 3.0 Expansion Card
DVD-R/RW 16x w/ Lightscribe SATA Optical Drive
I know that I have had problems before where massive Hardware Changes require a re-install, but I thought I'd get some input here before I decide to go that route, or whether I look towards warranty as all new internals are Brand New. Thanks!
