TheRUMP and The Tea Party

Tea party group hopes Trump will ‘realize’ Freedom Caucus is his ally

The co-founder of a national tea party group said Thursday that she hopes President Trump will come to the realization that the members of the House Freedom Caucus that helped sink the GOP’s health care bill last week are trying to help him deliver on a campaign promise.

Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots said Mr. Trump’s frustration with the legislative process — which he directed Wednesday at the Freedom Caucus — should be aimed House GOP leaders.

“We — and the members of the House Freedom Caucus — are the people who stood by President Trump in the fall, when many in the House GOP leadership abandoned him,” Ms. Martin said. “If President Trump wants to drain the swamp of Washington, D.C., he should aim his frustration at those who have been in the swamp the longest, not the ones who are trying to change business as usual in D.C.”

Promise them everything...give them nothing?

That was Obamacare and it took over a year to get THAT program done.....with only Dems, and many of them had to be bribed, lied to, threatened, and coerced into voting for it.

We're at 60+ days, and you're already rubbing your hands together. It'll get there.....the top GOP leaders tried to also do this behind closed doors with no representatives having a chance to even look at it or give input (sounds like the Dems all over again), so Trump will figure it out that he was lied to by people who weren't even in his camp to begin with.....and lying to the boss doesn't go over well.

And lying to The Tea Party goes over well, with Tea Party members?

All I see is reference to "day one" and "immediately"...I guess TheRUMP didn't realize what he was getting involved in....

Campaign website, March 2016: “On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.”

Campaign website, August 2016: “One of my first acts as President will be to repeal and replace disastrous Obamacare, saving another 2 million American jobs.”

Rally in Ohio, September 2016: “On my first day I’m going to ask Congress to immediately send me a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.”

Rally in Florida, October 2016: “Together we’re going to deliver real change that once again puts Americans first. That begins with immediately repealing and replacing the disaster known as Obamacare. My first day in office, I am going to ask Congress to put a bill on my desk getting rid of this disastrous law and replacing it with reforms that expand choice, freedom, affordability.”

He also said: “It’s going to be so easy.”

Rally in Pennsylvania, November 2016: “When we win on November 8th and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. I will ask Congress to convene a special session.”
