1. Install the latest motherboard drivers.
2. Check your CPU temp or better yet, just redo the heatsink compound.
3. I had a failed DVDRW that do what you said to my machine. A new drive fixed it.
Windows XP home edition 2002 with SP2, 1GB ram, mobo GA-7VAXP.
My pc has worked without problems for years but recently it started to crash the pc with the Nero 6 I had always been working with. In the begining I though it was the DVD drive so I bought a new one and guess what? Still the same problem. I uninstalled Nero 6 and installed it again. All seemed ok as no problems came up during installation but then... as I open Nero ...bang, again nothing works anymore. I took Nero out of the system and installed CDBurnerXP. Installation goes well until i tried to burn. As soon as I try to burn anything, all comes to a stop. So much so that i can not end the task in Windows Task Manager/Applications, so I need to reboot the whole system and start again.
Could anyone have any idea of how to fix this? Any tips, any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks a lot and a good day to all of you
