"All black people, leave store now" - NJ Walmart

Prank? Joke in bad taste? What if the speaker had said "all white people, leave store now", what would the reaction be? I'd probably laugh.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- A Walmart store announcement ordering black people to leave brought chagrin and apologies Wednesday from leaders of the company, which has built a fragile trust among minority communities.

A male voice came over the public-address system Sunday evening at a store in Washington Township, in southern New Jersey, and calmly announced: "Attention, Walmart customers: All black people, leave the store now."

Shoppers in the store at the time said a manager quickly got on the public-address system and apologized for the remark. And while it was unclear whether a rogue patron or an employee was responsible for the comment, many customers expressed their anger to store management.

Isn't it curious...

Remember last year when a group of SEIU thugs beat up a black man at a rally and repeatedly used the "n-word"? Isn't it curious that that wasn't called a hate crime?

hate crimes are reserved

to be used only against the specific groups targeted by them. Hate speech as a crime is actually making freedom of speech a crime, but it's intent is to make some speech more equal than other speech. Hate speech laws, like hate crime laws, are intended to create a special and separate set of laws to be used against the targeted groups by the special group. It will eventually backfire and when it does it might make the Serbia backfire look like a cakewalk. They need to address crimes equally, do away with ANY hate crime law, since no crime is born out of love really. Judge crime equally, not according to race or what was said concerning race. To let race become a deciding factor in law, makes the law racist.
