Hi, DaveK,

There was an extensive TV piece on CNN when he announced his retirement. Somehow I was surprised that he was 95, though we became fans when he hosted "Omnibus".

Hi, Angeline.

I used to watch "Omnibus" as a kid, though I'd forgotten who hosted it. I also really liked "Wide World 60" (which was hosted by Dave Garroway; I suspect you can guess when that show was on!) and "You are There," which was followed by "The 20th Century" and "Victory at Sea," with that wonderful music by Richard Rogers.
