Have an 8g Ipod 2nd gen. Ripped cd's in default settings 128kbps. Figured out I could do it in 192 aac audiofile and changed the settings in advanced options.
So I tried one cd in both formats (128 and 192)listening to the same songs in different formats. Played them side by side on both my IM7 speakers and my home stereo. I really wanted to hear a difference but neither I or wife could distinguish between them.---- did I do it wrong? Do I not have an ear for sound? Is there another way of improving sound quality? Would Alac or Lossless be the answer? (Know nothing about them-just what I've read here)
Before I purchased my Nano, I downloaded files from L.W. (evil past) I could definitely hear the difference between 128 and 192 when listening on my computer and my old Mp3 player at the time. It was like night and day. Am I missing something. If anyone responds, put it in terms I can understand. (little simple when it comes to this) Does anyone use ALAC.
Thankyou to all
