http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?25547-AI-Recovery-Burner makes me think you're being told wrong.

Alas, the link to the solution doesn't work anymore, but making a "windows 8 system image" is discussed elsewhere, for example in http://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-make-system-image-backup,26542.html.

Of course, there are other programs that can do the same (and more), like Acronis True Image (paid) or Easeus Todo Backup Free (free, and highly recommended by some of our members). Making a regular image of the system to an hard disk is better than having only the initial status on DVD's. After all, it's a lot of work to go back in 2019 from the 2015 status (as it is now) to the 2019 status (with updates, more programs and much more data).

Can i upgrade this image, from time to time,or have I to remake a new image at each time?
Is it posssible to use it with a usb key or an hard disk?

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/restore-computer-from-system-image-backup#1TC=windows-7 tells more. It's a full backup of everything. What more could you want?

Those third-party programs I mentioned can make an incremental backup. The Windows one can't.

Both a USB-stick and an external hard disk are possible, but the hard disk is much cheaper per GB than a USB stick and has way more space. So for a full backup, the choice is easy. Be sure to use USB 3. It really is much faster.
