Question

AirPrint from my laptop

Feb 18, 2016 7:21PM PST

I have two laptops. Both are Dell devices. One is an older 32-bit machine and the other is a newer 64-bit machine which I recently purchased. My older laptop will print just fine using AirPrint to my wireless Epson printer. The newer laptop will not. I've tried everything I can think of to enable the newer one to print but without success.

I'm not extremely computer-literate but I need to know how I can go about enabling AirPrint on this newer laptop. It's a Dell Latitude e6420 running Win7. Can anyone help me, please?

Clarification Request
AirPrint? Or print wirelessly?

"AirPrint is a mobile printing solution included with the Apple iOS v4.2 and later mobile operating systems. iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users "

I don't see the printer model so I'd go get the drivers from Epson.com and try again. My bet is this is not AirPrint at all.

Is there some way to look into my older laptop (it prints correctly) to see whether it's AirPrint or something else? Would that be easier?

The printer is a. Epson XP-4-0

As to AIrPrint, it's a safe bet it's not as that is for Apple iOS devices. Your printer is wireless so to avoid confusion, just call it wireless printing.

Yep! That was it. I was t thinking literally enough - to me, AirPrint and wireless were synonymous. Probably because most of my printing is done from my iPhone.

In any case, dragging out the Epson installation disc and starting the installation process over again was all it took.

Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it. P
