airport security and electronics

I cannot seem to find an answer to this question. Can you send your laptop, mp3 player, camcorder, etc. through airport detection stuff? Metal detectors, x-ray machines, yadda yadda! Half the answers I have found say yes and the other half say no! OK, what do I do?

Yes, and let's think about it. . .

If we couldn't, would there be an uproar? Yep. The only item that might be affedted is high speed film. Hardware is ok.

I've traveled for years carrying all kinds of gadgets including a laptop. Zero problems. The only concern is not to let it out of your sight. When you put it on the conveyer make sure you are next in line and all the junk is out of your pockets so you won't be delayed. Be waiting for it.

I figured this would be the best place for "GOOD" advice. You guys and gals have helped out on a few issues. THANX!! Don't laugh, i'm 41 and i've never flown before. I'm going to Fla in April. I usually go on a tour bus, but I recently had back surgeory. No 20 hour drive for me! First flight, all by myself, little stressed, and no clue about airport security!

Thanx for the info
