I find some drivers flip on on WPA2.
Also that random loss is common with those that own other 2.4GHz items like cordless phones (or the neighbor has such!)
I have a new AirPort Extreme base station. It was working well until a few days ago when I would randomly lose the signal. Sometimes it would last a few seconds, other times it could last as long as 30 min. This would happen on 3 laptops running OS X, XP Pro, and Vista. We could get the internet when it was hooked up through Ethernet coming from the router. It was only the Wi-Fi that was affected. I took my AirPort into the Apple Store and got a refurb (same model though), but the same thing is happening again. I have done several hard resets and changed the SSID and WPA2 on both several, but nothing works. I thought this was a hardware issue, but I'm beginning to think the problem is with the ISP. Is this an Apple problem or is it something my ISP is doing to throttle my Wi-Fi connection?
