Aiptek Action HD is a game changeer camcorder

by RobMtl007 / April 24, 2008 2:07 AM PDT

Greetings:

Looks like Aiptek has marketed a camcorder that can record video at 1440 X 1080 resolution at 30 FPS.

Pricing this camcorder just under $200, will really make competitors rethink their marketing strategy.

There are some test videos on YouTube and reviews on Steve's Forums.

The only question I have is that I live in Montreal Canada, where does one buy an Aiptek Action HD if they live in Canada?

Regards Robert

Walmart maybe
by cjones2010 / May 8, 2008 7:27 AM PDT

Walmarts website carries the Aiptek Action HD and you can also purcahse the Aiptek A+HD on the aiptek site. I've been looking at getting one of these as well. I wish CNET would take the time to review some of these less expensive, lesser known brands. So far it's been hard to find a review. But this camcorder also does 720p @ 60 fps which is almost more impressive than the 1080 @ 30fps.

Greetings cjones2010:

Thankyou for replying to my message, your reply is very helpful.

Yes I know that the Aiptek Action HD is being sold at Walmart in the USA.
But in Canada Walmart does not sell Aiptek Camcorders.
Hopefully Walmart Canada will change that soon.

As for a review on the Aiptek Action HD, I've found an excellent one
on Steves Forums.

Walmart online?
by cjones2010 / May 8, 2008 8:34 AM PDT

Hi Robert,
That is actually one of the few reviews I've found. Seems pretty positive for a $200 camcorder. So I'm guessing WalMart.com won't ship to a Canadian address? The other option could be eBay. I'm hoping Amazon will begin to carry them soon. Good luck getting one and if you do, let me know what you think of it.

Cheers,
Chris

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
