AIM is giving me a hard time.

Well the other day I went to update AIM. Well I downloaded the update and installed it. Well that didn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now it asks me if I want to set it as my default messanger. I try to click the checkbox for do not disply again and no but the box freezes. Please help.
