Ahead Nero cd/rw problem

Aug 18, 2004 7:52AM PDT

Hi,
I am running Nero 6.3.0.3 on an xp machine p4 2800
and need to transfer some files to my other
machines running, mandrake linux 9.2 on an amd 500
machine, a celeron 1800 running me and
a p100 running dos 6.22, They all have cd/rws
of at least 12 speed except the dos machine
which has a 16 speed cd rom.
I am using 12 speed cd/rw discs and doing a
full format on them but when i try to view the discs
on the other machines they are not recognised at all
I am not using InCd I have turned off joliet and all
relax iso options also tried dos, ascii and 9600
character sets and also finalized the disc with
no multisession but to no avail.
The blank discs are seen in the other machines with
cd/rws and when i create discs with them the other
machines can read them ok But the xp machine is my main
one and the only one with net access and my main files
where i do most of my work.
Can any one help? let me know if you need any more info.
cheers
Paul

I have an older 12 and 16X drive that I gave away because it was unreliable in reading CDRW media.

Try another drive.

The issue worsened with high speed (over 4X) CDRW media. You can try older 1 to 4X media.

CD, but Windows could not 'see' the files on the burned CD. Nero could, but Windows could not. I dropped Nero as too confusing. Windows can burn files to a CD without assistance. They can then be seen by other machines. Windows may not understand multi-sessions with an RW, but it can do the initial write. I have switched to Roxio.
