AHCI mode, Why can I no longer boot from CD/DVD?

Upgraded to a SSD and was told to change the BIOS to AHCI mode but in doing so, In the boot order, boot from CD/DVD in no longer an option. Is this normal?

Sounds like a bug.

File it with the maker. I take it that the CDDVD drive and media was tested elsewhere?

Yes, the cd/dvd drive is A-OK
I`m referring to the BIOS boot order, in the AHCI mode I do not have the choice to boot from any other drive. If I go back to the IDE mode, it is available and will do so.

The maker's site for new BIOS versions. I missed if the CD/DVD drive is sata.
