AGP slow down

by houtt / March 26, 2006 12:16 AM PST

I upgrade from a ATI Radeon 9200 (256MB) AGP card to a ATI Radeon 9800 (256MB) AGP card. I followed instructions closely for installation. Now my graphics load much slower. For example when surfing the web moving from site to site the pages unload & load in patches or blocks and are very slow. Everything else seems to be working fine except for the graphics, which are way slow. I realize there are updates for chipsets, bios etc, but did not want to do any unnecessary updating until I was pretty sure this would help with this problem I have encountered. I have all the current window XP Pro updates, SP2 etc.
My system information is listed below:
OS=Windows XP Pro (32-bit)

Virus software:

Processor info:

8 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Drive info:
_NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A [CD-ROM drive]

Any help would greatly be appreciated, Gary

And now that it works... Don't fix it.

Thank you for reporting back.
