AGP question

by friz / May 6, 2004 12:21 AM PDT

I just bought a Radeon 9800Pro. Are the settings automatically changed to AGP8x or do I have to change them manually?

I only found these settings in my BIOS
Graphic adapter priority AGP/PCI
Graphics Aperture size 128MB

Aida gives:

AGP properties
AGP Version 3.00
AGP Status Deactivated
AGP aperture 128 MB
Supported AGP Speed 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x
Fast-Write Supported, Deactivated
Side Band Addressing Supported, Activated

Problems and suggestions
Problem AGP is deactived.

On pc in properties > settings > advanced > Smartgart :
Current AGP speed off

So, how do I activate the AGP??

My motherboard supports 8x

AGP8X/Pro. AGP8X (AGP 3.0) is the next generation VGA interface specification that enables enhanced graphics performance with high bandwidth up to 2.12GB/s.

From all appearances of your AIDA32 and such, you should not have to do much than the usual motherboard and video card drivers...

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
