after installing Win XP SP2

I upgraded a friend's computer with Windows XP.(a fresh install). After installing the SP2 update, I am unable to access the internet.I've tried different ways, with and without Zonelab, and Norton anti-virus 2004, no difference.
Any ideas out there?
Thank you.

The usual....

....thing to do, if you have problems after installig SP2 is to uninstall and reinstall programs, drivers, etc. In your case remove Internet Connections, then recreate.

RE: after installing Win XP SP2 - try this

- Click CHANGE FIREWALL SETTINGS
- click on ADVANCE
- click on connection you are using for email
- on the next page make sure that there is a check mark in front of POP3 and SMTP.
Done! After hours of changing settings, this worked for me. Good luck to you!

Also make sure

that SP2's firewall is turned off.

It defaults to "on" when it is installed.
