after installing Win XP SP2

by realman / February 18, 2005 9:35 AM PST

I upgraded a friend's computer with Windows XP.(a fresh install). After installing the SP2 update, I am unable to access the internet.I've tried different ways, with and without Zonelab, and Norton anti-virus 2004, no difference.
Any ideas out there?
Thank you.

- click on ADVANCE
- click on connection you are using for email
- on the next page make sure that there is a check mark in front of POP3 and SMTP.
Done! After hours of changing settings, this worked for me. Good luck to you!

Also make sure

that SP2's firewall is turned off.

It defaults to "on" when it is installed.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
