Question

After 8.1 upgrade, win store opens on every boot - why?

Oct 20, 2013 1:09PM PDT

It also seems to open every now and again in the middle of other, unrelated activity - though I haven't logged that much time since the upgrade, obviously, to form a solid opinion about this. It isn't listed as a startup program, so I can't figure it out. Guidance appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion - but dumping the store completely seems a bit radical. I forgot that I have been using stardock's ModernMix to use win8 apps in windowed form over the desktop for about 6 months. I had also forgotten that of all the apps, the Store does not play nice when in a window - it must be full screen to operate properly for some reason. I think the problem went away after I restored the store to full screen. Will reply again if this turns out not to be the case over time.
