Aero Glass on Home Basic

Aug 18, 2007 3:59AM PDT

I have read on Google that you can change settings in the registry so you can run Aero on home basic. I have Tried one thing but there was no option for Windows Aero after I restarted. Has anyone else out there perfected this?

Sorry...

Aero is one of the cornerstones of the Home Premium edition, and I could no more support forcing its addition as I could adding Windows Media Center or any other part of another edition. That leaves two main options:
1.) Upgrade to Vista Home Premium.
2.) Install a third-party program, such as Window Blinds, that mimics the Aero look and effects.

It should

my computer has the same exact specs, but mine is a Compaq Presario C304NR, and I upgraded the RAM to 1 gig, and I runs Home basic Flawlessly. Your CPU should be fine, you will need at LEAST 1 gig or ram. 1 gig is the minimum you need to have to run Aero. I am not sure is Intels integrated graphics will run Aero well. To give you spacific details on what you need to upgrade you should run the Windows upgrade advisor.
