Adware Help

Jan 30, 2005 2:44PM PST

I found 2 adwares through Norton 2005, that came installed with the computer, Windows XP.

It seems to be only one but in two locations. The name is "ipin32.dll". It seems to be coming from this location "SBC Yahoo!/Connection Manager/IP Insight/ipin32.dll", since that is what the two locations have in common.

Where is the best place to get information on these types of files, and what can I do. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What are adwares?? Programs that usually displays advertisments in their window.
Is it dangerous, no but it is irritating.
If you really like this program, you should ignore this file, but if you don't like advertisements uninstall program and search for another one.
Best info about ipin32.dll- aks google, but your program should give you information, ad-aware do this(details) and giant antispyware also.
Very important: rate of damgerous, if low ignore, if high delete(but program won't work correctly)

Pirate, About "ipin32.dll"...

IP Insite is software that monitors your computer info but may provide connection data. Other DSL and cable ISP's do similar things. There is probably no reason for you to keep it because it does act like spyware, but I would rename the file first, then run the computer without it for a while, (something like "ipin32.old") just in case. If it creates a problem, rename it back.

Hope this helps.
