Vulnerability in TCP Could Allow Connection Reset

Microsoft would like to inform the public that they are aware of the above vulnerability report and confirmed that users with the following products and security update are not vulnerable:
Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, and the MS05-019 security update.

The said issue does not affect Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, or Windows Millennium Edition.

Microsoft noted that MS05-019 security bulletin is currently scheduled to be re-released in June of 2005. They confirmed that the above security issue has been fixed. However, the original security update contains a known network connectivity issue that affects a particular type of network configuration. Only customers that are experiencing network connectivity issue after installing MS05-019 security update is advised to follow the instructions that are contained in the article to address the network connectivity issue which can be found in the Knowledge Base 898060 entitled Installing security update MS05-019 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 may cause network connectivity between clients and servers to fail. Customers who do not have connectivity issue after installing MS05-019, need not to do anything Wink
