ADVICE TO POTENTIAL VISTA BUYERS....

Feb 10, 2007 8:26AM PST

As you can see by these many many posts about problems with Vista on this forum, you might be thinking, "Should I even get Vista?" My advice to everyone is to wait!!! Vista has simply not gotten all of its minor bugs fixed yet such as copy-and-pasting and graphical features. If you wait until fixes and other updates are released before buying it, it will save you a lot of heartache instead of spending days trying to set up the the new OS. Good luck!

P.S. If you want this thread to stay near the top so people can see it and have handy advice at the click of a mouse, post on this thread.

24 hours with Vista

I've had my Vista computer for 24 hours and so far I've only had one minor problem and that was with Rioxio's Drag and Drop error after the window's update that a lot of Dell owners are having. That issue is now resolved for me. So far everything seems to be running good for me.

the MSXML 4.0 SP2 security update won't install, but other than that it's been good.

Here's my thought.

1. New machines that come with Vista installed will likely be ok.

2. 20 percent of people who upgrade will be ok. 80% will have issues of which 20% will never fix it. That leaves about 60% that will put it back in the box or return it.

Source of said numbers? 60 Minutes. Not high grade research but I think it's a good guess.
