I would go with notebook Hdd. that do not require external power. Slightly more expensive but I think it's lot more portable. Just my think on this. But if you are think more on the speed side, then it's your choice. Good luck.
Hi,
I've seen a External hard drive by Seagate, FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB USB 2.0 Ultra-portable External Hard Drive but they can be upgraded with cables, eSATA Upgrade Cable or even 3.0 usb. I thought i could make the most of my eSATA port since its supposed to be 6x faster data transfer than usb 2.0 but still have the option for other types for future use like usb 3.0.
They seam to have very good reviews but when it comes to eSATA thats when the reviews are mixed. The issue it with it being portable means the power source has to come from the laptop my concerns are is the eSATA port powerful enough to power it and transfer the data? i ideally need 500GB - 1TB has anyone got one of these set up this way or know anyone? or know of another way to set this up? the other option was trying to upgrade my ports to usb 3.0 but i really dont know whats the best thing to do.
Or can any one recommend a good fast drive ive got 2.0 usb & eSATA on my laptop.
Thank You Angelina
