I assume you are looking for a tough rugged camcorder.
Camcorders do not like cold wet weather.
You can protect the camera by placing it in a plastic bag and taking the pictures through the plastic. You will still get moisture inside the camcorder due to condensation, when you take the camera from the cold and into a warm place.
Moisture inside the camcorder will cause the tape to stick to the head and metal guides.
I don't know of any camcorder that will work well under the conditions you describe.

Hi,
I need a camcorder that is though
The cam will be used to film snowboard day/nite and I will do follow shot with the camcorder, this implies that I will follow the subject down the slopes and I might get to fall with the cams in my hands since my attention goes to the other snowboarder.
This is why I need a though camcorder that will resists to shocks.
So far, I've been looking toward the Sony DCR TRC 260 for 500$CAN which is about 350$USD. It is a Digital 8mm.
I would like to know which will be mroe resistant between 8mm and mini dv ans what other camcorders I should look in the same price range.
and one last thing, I will upload all the footage onmy comp.
Thank you!
