Advice on tablet that fully supports flash for kids homework

Jun 2, 2014 1:03AM PDT

I'm looking for a tablet my kids can use - doesn't have to be a specialist kids one as they are quite careful although parental controls would be useful - for their homework websites which are all flash based 'games'. We currently have an iPad but this obviously doesn't work and trusting 1 kid upstairs on the pc while supervising the others downstairs doesn't work well! I'm looking for proper flash support built in rather than getting a third party app which don't always work well. Preferably something I can get cheap/second hand so doesn't have to be latest model.

Sounds like you need a full up tablet like.

Look at the Asus T100 which is the real full up Windows. It is cheaper than most iPads.

Trying to keep it as cheap as possible...

They're primary school kids so not looking to splash out too much if I can get away with it. I also don't want to get them something better than mine! Wink

That's it for the tablet world.

Why must it be a tablet? That is, sometimes you find folk thinking a tablet will be cheaper than today's laptops. That's untrue.

The T100 met the Flash requirement where other tablets didn't plus is the lowest price full up Windows tablet I've seen to date.

That's a shame, have to think of something else...

A tablet is smaller and easier to cart around to use in car or while waiting for a sibling to get out of an after school class. I'd rather they were doing homework than playing temple run on my phone!

Thanks for your help though bob, at least I now have an answer where before all sales people just looked blankly at me!

Should be fine as well. However the prices are nearly double that of the T100.

I think I'll have to go with them using my iPad and the puffin web browser. This didn't work well in previous versions, but I've just tried the latest version and so far it's worked, although will see what happens when it's used properly. Maybe if that works I'll get them a really cheap kids tablet that they can drop as much as they like.
