All the amps you are looking at are great and will give you excellent sound quality. BUT the advantage with DENON is they hold there value. I just sold and older denon pro-logic amp and d.v.d. player and got a good price for them they are sot after electronics I now own an older Denon 3805 a/v/ amp and its future proof and very flexable good luck stewee
I'm new to starting a home theatre and have narrowed my options down to the Yamaha HTR 6090, Onkyo TX-SR674 and Pioneer VSX-81TXV. I have a 60" Sony SXRD rear projection HDTV and will be adding better speakers, DVD player, and PS3 later but I wanted to nail down a mid-level quality receiver first. The primary use will be for movies and I'd like the best sound possible for a 7.1 setup.
All three seem to be quality receivers based on everything I've read here and elsewhere, so I doubt I am in bad shape with any of them. However, I didn't see any full reviews on the Yamaha or Pioneer here.
The Onkyo appears that it would meet most of my needs, but would it be worth spending the extra money for the Yamaha or Pioneer?
I'm sure others in the market for a quality mid-range receiver would also be interested in any advice you could provide.
Thanks for your help!
