Question

advice on buying a smart phone

Sep 13, 2016 4:49PM PDT

I am The Ancient One (late 80's) and my wife wants me to get a smart phone.( I did have a disposable cell phone for awhile but only used it a few times.) I would like to get a phone that meets my needs, but not necessarily a new version (an older version that is not refurbished or used is what I am looking for). I am listing below the requirements that I feel are necessary, but it is the last three are something that only a user can tell me and the last two are of real importance since I am hearing impaired

Android Phone
Voice
Texting
Photo-Video (Hopefully equivalent to iPhone MP Cool
GPS
Unlocked
No contract
Prepaid
Sufficient RAM memory to install a few apps
Either large storage memory or micro SD slot
Easily accessed message storage
High volume on ring tone
High volume on voice without going to speaker

What is MP?

MegaPixels?

On Android we don't install to RAM but internal memory which today is Flash Memory. For me my entry level model is the Bluboo Picasso with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and it has the usual SIM and SD card slots. It was 89 dollars on Amazon.

I just checked and it has an Outdoor loudest ring and vibrate for ring tone in the settings.

I would be guessing what you mean by easy message storage.

MP does stand for mega pixels which is what my wife's I-phone has but I can do with less.
As far as RAM memory or flash memory I will need at least 2GB beyond what the OS uses for my apps unless it is okay to install apps in the flash memory. As far as message storing, I should have referred to it as voice mail. Without going into a great detail, let's just say I was never able to get voice mail set up on my cell phone.
I will check out Bluboo Picasso. Certainly the price is much less than what I was anticipating. One thing I didn't mention was that I do want phone with a 5" screen.

It's a 5.0 screen. I think it's looks great.
