Question

Advice on a New Graphics Card!

May 21, 2012 1:56PM PDT

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Company
Model: p6777c
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 830 Processor 2.80GHz
Installed RAM: 8:00gb
System: 64 bit
Driver: ATI Radeon 4200 HD

I am looking for a graphics card that would allow me to run a high end game like Assassins Creed 2/3 or MW2 With very high fps.

I am not looking for something really expensive, but the cheapest one i can get that would still deliver what kind of FPS i am looking for.

I want my car to run 200 mph and get 40 mpg and I only want to spend 50 bucks.
Notta-gonna-happen.

Your machine was not designed for gaming.
You have a pci-e x16 slot........that's good.
You have a 250w psu.........that's bad.
You have a micro size mobo........that's iffy.

Your looking at a psu upgrade first.
How big?
That depends on how high up the gpu ladder you want to go.

Guess-ta-mit.

Your looking at 200>300 bucks...........is that in the budget?
Then there is that mobo..........you best measure the spacing around that pci-e slot.
Some gpu's are quite large.

Yup.

But if I push the car off a cliff it might.

Oops, terminal velocity keeps it at about 90 MPH.

Dang, need to send it through a cruncher or just drop the engine block out the back of plane.

PS. I think "The list" is pretty nice as the new cards at about 100.

Pick a video card from this list.

The power supply you have is not strong enough for any of the above cards.
That means you have to replace the power supply with something bigger.

Go here.
http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=58&name=Power-Supplies
Shop for a 600/700 watt........single rail unit.
Read the reviews.

If that's still all gibberish it might be best to bring the machine to your local PC shop and have a chat.
