that are real powerfull usually have short battery life. The more powerfull the components the more power needed to run them. The laptop ypour looking at has a 6 cell battery. Here's a powerfull Asus with a 8 cell ASUS G Series G71Gx-A2 which should ber a little better with battery life.

Hey guys,
getting really confused here.
I had a 17" dell with the 1900x1200 res displays that went sour and now I have a collection of vertical lines.
I m looking for a replacement and my budget is about 1800 us.
Initially I was looking at the Asus G51J, can t get more power for your buck and power=longevity, right?
Well, now I'm confused. I have a desktop at work but occasionally will need to give presentations with the laptop and turning up with a "kid rig" like the G51J seems a little unprofessional, not to mention the 1 hour battery life which sux for long flights.
So I was looking at the Hp Envy 15, but I mgetting mixed messages about it, some say its great, others terrible.
Matter of fact is that I like to play the occasional game, watch the occasional movie and I want something which has a nice screen, a core i7 a 15" screen and isn't too heavy (6 pounds is fine, 9 isn't).
Also, I need to work on this thing, so no Macs.
Who can help? Thanks!!
Paul
