Advice for best compact photo and video camera

I'm just looking for something convenient to to take quick video and photos of the kids and travel. We have a camcorder, but it never gets used due to size. We've ben using a 4 year old canon elph that worked ok for us until it got broken. I'm now in the market for something similar in size, but with the best video quality i can get in a small package. I'm considering the newer canon SD model. any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The Canon SD series of camera is a good choice.

Five of the latest models can also shoot High Definition (HD) videos.
