Advice for a Christmas Gift Creative/Sony ?

Dec 14, 2010 10:31PM PST

I am new here and looking for some advice...

The guy I am seeing would like an MP3, he's looked at them a BIT, and I have been researching for 3 weeks, but I am still confused and lost!

I would love to get something 8 or 16 MB and have been looking at the Creative Zen and Sony Walkman...Both seem to have good reviews.

He's also interested possibly in using it to watch movies, though he has a phone that does that, so I am not 100% sure this would be used for that purpose.

The basic need is something to listen to music, he will not be doing books on it, nor have the need to take photo's or even store them.

Though he will be using it to work out with, in a gym setting not running or anything if that helps. Any advice or thoughts would be most helpful.

Oh and I have looked at the Ipods, I have one and like it ok, but he might kill me if I spent that much on something! Wink

Thanks again!

8 or 16 MB?

That's so 2000. I bet you meant 2010 and 8 or 16 GB.

As a guy, my wife learned to let me pick out my own gear. For me the real gifts are things like a great nite out or going with me to the workout center.

As to the player, I know some don't like the idea but the Apple touch ipod is hard to beat.

Creative/Sony

I have a Creative Zen X-fi 2. I love it. The sound is wonderful, much better than I-pod, don't know about Sony. The Creative is a not as quick or easy to use, but once set up (very adjustable audio settings)the sound is just great. Plays Flac recordings, too. There are some players with better sound and some with still very good sound but easier to use and navigate.
