by Bob4Health / November 29, 2016 4:06 AM PST

I tried to download Advanced System Care 10.3
McAfee said it had a virus.
It was for advanced-systemcare-setup.exe
from files.download1.com
McAfee also said the page was dangerous. I can email a secreen shot. Third time I almost got a virus from CNET. You folks are supposed to be experts, come on.

Stay away from this software it gives false info about malware on your PC. I wouldn't touch it.

We take issues of this nature very seriously. All products on Download.com are downloaded, installed, and scanned for viruses and malware before being published in our library.

What you are seeing is most likely a false positive detection, but we will forward this information to our product management team so they can re-test the file in question.

If you would, please send your screenshots to: downloadsupport@cbsinteractive.com

In the email you send, it would also be helpful to know:

1. The link to the specific Download.com page from which you downloaded

2. What device (make and model) you used to download

3. What operating system the device is running

4. What browser and which version you used

Answer Download Virus with Advanced System Care
by Bob4Health / December 1, 2016 12:32 PM PST

Advanced system care itself said it wanted to do an upgrade.
I simply used their default software.

I don't see how which browser I used gcould make the slightest difference.
Firefox, the most current, I don't see an about page.

Once again, the version of my OS makes no difference, McAfee found a virus.
But I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Envy.

I'll send a secreen shot.
