My current ADSL has a monthly 200Mb limit. (This is with Bigpond.com in Australia), and will charge AU$0.18/Mb that excceds the limit.
Because I don't have much available after the numerous windows updates have been received, I always have a look at my network connections status at the beginning and at the completion of my internet sessions.
Trouble is that whereas a dialup network connection is reported as Mb download/upload, If I connect by ADSL the network connection is reported as packets.
I'd like to know how to convert the Packets figure back to Mb figures, so that I can see how much download/upload I have left till the end of the month?
Except for the updates, my monthly usage is very small. So, I can't justify to myself the extra cost of upgrading to a larger Mb contract just for the sake of the updates.
