The distance limit for this type of service seems to be 18k ft.
I'm about 22k ft...as per a Gray Headed Telco type who was checking
my phone line.
How is it Telco can offer me ADSL service?
Does this have something to do with their 768k service?

A remote DESLAM in a CEV (Controlled Environment Vault) fed by an OC-12 fiber will do the same. They can put a remote any distance from a CO with fiber.
