I don't know the exact model number - but I fitted a Linksys one for a client a few years ago and it is still going strong. It is one of the older type blue stackable ones - similar in style to the WRT54G wireless router. It isn;t a router, just one ethernet port for the internet connection.
I don't know about the availability of them now though - might be worth checking on eBay?
Having performed a number of searches, not just on this site but in general on the web, it would appear that many manufacturers have withdrawn out of the residential ADSL modem business (at least in the US). I've owned several, in the past 4 years. One was the 2Wire that came when I initiated my AT&T DSL service and then I bought a ZOOM modem. From my research it would appear that they all suffer similar failures after being in service for from 1 1/2 to 2 years. They become intermittent. So once again I am searching for a new modem, not necessarily for the router. Is there a modem out there that provides reliable service for more than 2 years ? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, in advance.
