Sorry. I cheat. Here's how.

I use nothing but those ethernet equipped DSL modems and then connect it to a router. This way, the OS doesn't matter. It just works.

Cheers,

Bob

What are you saying?

"cud" - Something cows chew.

"u" - letter of the alphabet.

"plz" - unknown.

-> Sorry, I try to stick with English. Mispellings are fine, but I can't understand your last post. It's very strange.

All the major router makers describe how to connect ethernet dsl modems to their routers. I do not duplicate their content here. It's the forum rules.

Try:

http://www.linksys.com
http://www.dlink.com

They have setup examples. With the router in the brew, the OS doesn't matter.

A simple step they don't mention

It's the same in Windows 98se and XP. First connect the computer directly to the modem, no router. After establishing a connection (Windows and Linux), move cable back to router, cable from router to modem, plug in or turn on router, and reboot. Both OSs will confiure now as they are booted for the first time. Hope this helps. chuck
