Question

ADSL disconnects when using phone(tried splitter)

Aug 12, 2018 12:53PM PDT

I have had this problem for a while...
when you answer the phon, it disconnects.
I tried using splitters and changing wires, splitter, phone ... Didn't help! Sad
And I'm pretty sure that my router is ok.
I have contacted ISP and they said it should have been fixed doing these...
It is SO annoying.
Please help, What else should I do?

A splitter is necessary indeed. The frequency of the ADSL signal is much higher than that used by the analog phone.
- Does an oscilloscope see anything strange (such as low frequency signal) on the output to the ADSL modem when you answer the phone or phone yourself?
- Does another ADSL modem disconnect also?

I haven't try another modem on this line but I tested my own modem on another line, doesn't disconnect when using phone...
