How do I delete the recent files listed in the file menu of the free Adobe reader 6.0?

Unfortunately Adobe doesn't offer the ability to do so from within the program, and I'm not sure exactly where the history for Adobe Reader is kept. However, I use the free program CCleaner, which will clean your computer of junk and temp files, including the histrory lists of most major programs. (It recovers 100MB+ of space for me daily.) If you only want to wipe out the Adobe history list, don't worry...it lets you customize what you want it to clean by unchecking what you want left alone. (Leave only "Adobe Acrobat Reader" checked.)

Hope this helps,
John

Just click here to go the to program's download site, run the installer when the download is complete, then launch the program from the start-menu or desktop shortcut it creates. By default CCleaner is set to automatically clean everything it can, including the MRU (Most Recently Used) lists from programs such as Adobe Reader. You can customize what it cleans and what it doesn't by unchecking anything you want left alone. To have it only clean the history of Adobe Reader, uncheck all items under ''Windows,'' then click the tab that's titled ''applications.'' Uncheck everything you see there except Adobe Acrobat Reader, then click ''analyze'' to see what the program plans on deleting, followed by ''run cleaner'' to actually erase what was found. After it's done (takes up to a few seconds), you can launch Adobe Reader again and make sure the history has been removed.

Hope this helps,
John
