Adobe Premiere Elements vs Pinnacle Studio

Jan 6, 2008 5:43AM PST

Hi all,

I'm trying to decide which of these video editing softwares to purchase.
I am already going to be purchasing Adobe Photoshop, so I thought I might get Premiere Elements since you can get it at a packaged price when you buy them together.

However, a local camera store teaches a video editing class using Pinnacle. Since I know nothing about video editing, I thought it would be nice to take the class.

I've downloaded a free trial of Adobe Premiere so I can try it out, but Pinnacle doesn't have free trials so I can't compare that way.

Does anyone know enough about both of these to tell me if they basically do the same things? I plan to be a casual user -- just taking/editing videos of my family, not trying to make anything professional.

Thanks!

Shelly
