Adobe Photo Downloader

Win XP-Home

I recently installed Adobe Reader 7.0 and this prog came 'bundled' with it. I tried to stop it from auto loading w/start up-inspector but it just reappears. Search can't find a file for it. I did find it in the registry but I'm not confident about making changes there. Is there a way to stop this prog from loading at start-up?

Re: Solution, 'not quite'

Sorry I forgot to mention that I've tried that. What happens is that when start-up begins theres a pop-up box telling me that windows is starting in a modified state.I can make the window dissappear by checking the small box, I know. What I'm after is getting it out of the starting line-up all together. I wouldn't mind losing the whole prog but as I said search can't find it's file, it is hidden so deep. Something tells me that if I uninstalled Acrobat Reader 7.0 it would still be there. I know it wanted to take over as my primary photo handling.
Thank you for your help. I will use your suggestion for now but would really like to have better controll over this 'forced ware'.

You have not mentioned which OS you have.If you have WinXP, then you can use "System Restore".
Also if your copy of Adobe Reader is original, you can go to Adobe.com for help. You mentioned"Something tells me that if I uninstalled Acrobat Reader 7.0 it would still be there."; did you actually uninstall the product?
Also be careful while uninstalling the product because of the cd key verification process. After uninstalling, reinstall the Reader in custom option and donot install the Photo Downloader.

Pj, You Should Be Able To Uninstall It From...

...the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs..I believe it's listed as the "Adobe Photoshop Elements Trial" or something similar.

Hope this helps.
