Adobe Illustrator CS cannot use templates or tool Help

Mar 2, 2005 3:57AM PST

My computer is p4 1500 MHz
Motherboard ECS P4S5mg/GL+
Memory 1 gig

I installed Adobe Illustrator CS from a boxed gift I recieved from a family member that had visited China on a vacation. The writing on the outside of the box was mostly chinese. I had to cut and paste the files to my hard drive and remove the chinese writing from the installation folder name.It installed fine but I can not use any of the templates tools etc.The error message i get when clicking on templates for example is C:Program Files\Adobe\Illustrator CS\Templates\Stationery\Stationery 3 note Envelope.ait" is an unknown format Can anyone help me with this? This was legally purchased software with a ser. # included in the box.
Thanks Kt.

Ktheaker, Chinese Language Version...?
Mar 2, 2005 7:55AM PST

If that's the case, then there are a number of problems that may occur when attempting to run a foreign language program version on an English language Windows computer. Have you contacted Adobe to see if they are compatible?

Hope this helps.

Even an English version might do this.

I have a friend who is a long time Mac using graphic artist who has mentioned this. Apparently, Adobe products
MUST be installed from original disc only. Drag and Drop, or Cut and Paste will not work. chuck
