Question

Adobe flash player not working

Jun 10, 2012 4:04PM PDT

I have not been able to play/stream video materials that require flash player for some weeks.
I have downloaded Adobe Flash player-11 several times but no luck.
It seems that the websites I am attempting to view do not recognize the Flash player-11 in my computer

Not yet

I have not tried other browsers. I am used to IE-9 and not very skillful with switching browsers back and forth.
I briefly thought of firefox; but I have not tried it.
Thanks

Can you tell the exact error message that makes you say: "it seems the websites don't recognize the player".

No error message.

No error messages.
"it seems the websites don't recognize the player".==This was just my conclusion.
When I try to play a video clip at CNN/FOX/CNBC, I am instructed to
""Please install the latest version of the free Adobe Flash Player.Download now""
I have done this installation several times without any error messages during the installation [it actually says the installation is complete].
But when I try to play the video clip again, I get the same instruction ""Please install the latest version of the free Adobe Flash Player.Download now""
By the way I tried uninstalling and then re-installing Adobe flash after a while, but still can't play flash videos.
Meanwhile I can play videos from hulu, widows media player, youtube.
Thanks.

Then the things to try:
1. Try another browser (Firefox and Chrome are free to download, easy to install and don't interfere with your usage of IE for other purposes. No need to "switch back and forth". Just run if you need it.
2. Try another Windows account. That's somewhat clumsy, because you switching user accounts to view a video is much more annoying than just running another browser.
