Adobe Acrobat reader and aol

Jul 9, 2010 9:48AM PDT

My computer is running windows xp and AOL 9.1 I also have the Acrobat reader 9.1.3 and it works great opening pdf files saved on my system.
When I go to a website and try to open a pdf file it says I do not have the correct version of Acrobat. I can not figure how to look at what plugins are active in AOL or fix it.

I you use another browser than the AOL one, does it work then? That would be one of possible work-arounds. Another one: save it to your hard disk and open it from there.

AOL and acrobat

Yes, there is another browser on my computer and it works fine for pdf files. I can save the file and open it, it would be easier for me to open the file and see if it is worth saving. I need to find out how to reinstall the acrobat plugin in AOL or at least.

Thanks for you input

Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files for Acrobat and Adobe Reader (8.0 and 3D 8 on Windows).

I found it confusing. At first I thought it was limiting the PDF reader to AOL 8, but reading again I don't think that is what it is saying.

See what you think, and whether it helps you configure AOL 9 to download and display PDF files within the browser.
